MERSEY FILM ANNOUNCE BROOKSIDE DVD PROJECT

Mersey Television’s newly launched film division, Mersey Film, announced
today that pre-production has begun on its first feature.

BROOKSIDE: “UNFINISHED BUSINESS” is the working title for an exclusive
BROOKSIDE DVD release that will depict the final reckoning between Tim O’
Leary (Philip Olivier) and Steve Murray (Steven Fletcher) with Terry (Greg
Millburn). Last November drug-crazed Terry was at the heart of the hostage
situation and cataclysmic helicopter crash that rocked Brookside Close,
resulting in the deaths of Tim’s wife and Steve’s stepmother. So far he’s
managed to avoid retribution, but that’s all about to change as the duo
finally track him down and a bloody game of revenge and death is played out.

Shooting for this exciting new feature commences on July 14 and the finished
DVD will be available to buy from November 2003 (BROOKSIDE’s 21st birthday
month). In an innovative move, Mersey Film will be responsible for not only
the production of the feature, but also the reproduction and distribution of
the final DVD. Copies will be made available to purchase directly from
Mersey Television’s official websites, providing a direct link between
producer and consumer.

Phil Redmond, Chairman of Mersey Television and founder of Mersey Film said:

“This is a brand new approach to the video/DVD sell-through market, and it
seems fitting that this strategy is being launched on the back of a
BROOKSIDE project – what with BROOKSIDE itself being synonymous with
experimentation and innovation over the last 21 years. I’m delighted that
BROOKSIDE: UNFINISHED BUSINESS represents the first production from Mersey
Film.”

Let me guess: another 18-rated "special not-to-be-seen-on-TV" video packed
out with f-words, gratuitous violence and nudity in lieu of a decent plot?
Great job Phil!

Big deal. If they brought out a compilation of storylines from 1982 -
1998
on a DVD THAT I would by
--------
So it seems that all the loyal fans who have stayed with this to the end
(not me i must confess) will then have to pay out to buy a video/dvd to find
out exactly what happens when the series finishes??
just another con to get people to pay more money !

From what is quoted, you would think the series was carrying on as normal!
